About the role
Position Description At a Glance Legrand has an exciting opportunity for a Material Packager to join the Power Bus Way Team in Mississauga, ON . The Material Packager is an integral part of our packaging department, responsible for efficiently packing finished goods and ensuring that all materials are prepared for shipping. This position requires attention to detail in strapping and wrapping products, as well as effective coordination with both the shipping and assembly departments to ensure timely and accurate delivery of finished goods.
What Will You Do?
- Pack finished goods by strapping and wrapping products securely to ensure safe transport.
- Apply skid ID labels and accompanying documentation to finished pallets.
- Coordinate with the shipping and receiving departments to confirm completion of packaging and readiness for dispatch.
- Collaborate with the assembly department to promptly pack finished materials as soon as assembly is complete, ensuring minimal delays in the production flow.
- Operate pump trucks and walkies to move pallets around the packaging area safely and efficiently.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and best practices to promote a safe working environment.
- Assist in inventory management by keeping track of packaging supplies and notifying the supervisor when restocking is necessary.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Education: High school or equivalent.
Skills/Knowledge/Abilties
- Previous experience in a packaging or warehouse role is preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with packing techniques and materials is a plus.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and documentation processes.
- Physical ability to lift and move pallets and packages, and operate manual material handling equipment.
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
