Job Brief
Our company is seeking a detail-oriented and organized QA Document Specialist to support the Quality Assurance and Food Safety department by ensuring all documentation is accurate, up to date, and compliant with company and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Review daily QA/QC paperwork for completeness, accuracy, and missing signatures, escalating any deviations or non-conformance issues immediately.
- Manage the lifecycle of all standard operating procedures (SOPs), food safety plans, and operational logs from creation to archiving ensuring obsolete forms are decommissioned and production teams are using current versions.
- Maintain Approved Supplier List, closely monitoring expiration dates for Certificates of Analysis (COAs), Letters of Guarantee (LOGs), and organic/GFSI certificates, executing follow-up requests before documents expire.
- Organize and maintain all compliance documentation for GFSI standards (e.g., SQF, BRC).
Job Terms
- Job Type: Permanent Full-time, 40 hours per week, adjustment pending on business need
- Probationary Period: 3-months or 480 hours, whichever longer
- Work Location: 2501-A Stanfield Rd, Mississauga ON, L4Y 1R6
- Shift Requirement: Monday - Friday, day shift
- Compensation: $21 - $22 per hour
- Benefits: Group Benefits entitlement upon completion of probation time
Qualifications
- College or equivalent diploma required.
- 1–3 years of experience in a QA, food safety, document control, or administrative role within a manufacturing or food production environment preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel, as well as LibreOffice applications.
- Strong understanding of food safety and quality systems, including GFSI standards such as SQF and/or BRC.
