The Tool Service organization provides manufacturing, consulting, design, and revision services for tooling used in the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of engines for programs in service and under development (NPI).
We provide turnkey tooling solutions to production sites worldwide and collaborate with OEMs, overhaul facilities, partners, and other organizations. As the intellectual property owner of our products, we support our tooling throughout its lifecycle.
Our tooling specialties include:
Manufacturing tooling, assembly tooling, test cell tooling, gauging and measuring tools, modular tooling, development tooling, molds, lifting and handling equipment, and cutting tools.
This is a full-time position from Monday to Friday with flexible hours, based inMississauga, and performed exclusively on-site.
What will your day-to-day look like?
As an Entry-Level Tool Designer, you will work under the guidance of senior designers and group leaders to support the design and development of tooling solutions. This role is ideal for a recent graduate seeking to develop technical expertise in aerospace tooling design within a collaborative engineering environment.
Assist in the design of safe, functional, and manufacturable tooling in accordance with established standards and procedures.
- Support the analysis of customer requests and participate in proposing practical tooling solutions.
- Produce 3D models and detailed drawings under supervision.
- Participate in design reviews with project leaders and senior designers.
- Support manufacturing and engine assembly lines through tooling updates and improvements.
- Participate in problem-solving sessions and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support tool validation activities during tool try-out (as required).
- Assist in investigating tooling non-conformities and implementing corrective actions.
What do you need to be successful?
- College Diploma (DEC) in Mechanical Engineering Technology or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 0–2 years of relevant experience (internships or co-op experience considered an asset).
- Basic knowledge of CAD software (Catia V5 preferred).
- Understanding of mechanical drawing principles and GD&T fundamentals (ASME Y14.5 or equivalent).
- Strong analytical skills and willingness to learn in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Assets
- Internship or project experience in aerospace or manufacturing.
- Exposure to tooling, fixtures, lifting devices, or mechanical assemblies.

The salary range for this role is 78,000 CAD - 122,850 CAD . The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
