About the role
The Desjardins Group Monitoring Office (DGMO) carries out strategic and cross-sector audits for Desjardins’s various entities. DGMO’s Professional Practice and Operational Support Administrative Department is responsible for the internal audit strategies and methodologies used across Desjardins Group. As a senior advisor in internal audit professional practices, you play a key advisory role for a range of partners on files and projects related to highly innovative, cross-sector strategic initiatives in internal auditing. You also make recommendations on the development and execution of files and projects with a very high degree of operational and conceptual complexity. Your work draws on strong analytical skills and a comprehensive, in-depth understanding of the internal audit field and the organization. More specifically, you will be required to:
- Stay up to date on internal audit trends to propose innovative initiatives
- Develop and update internal audit strategies, processes and tools, including the audit plan, audit execution, reporting and quality assurance, in accordance with best practices and the standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
- Actively contribute to certain DGMO cross-sector processes, including quarterly reporting
- Serve as an expert advisor on IIA standards, supporting internal auditors and managers in applying DGMO’s methodology
- Support the positioning, planning, development, execution and monitoring of strategic projects for the DGMO
- Excellent skills in analysis, synthesis and writing, combined with strong ethics, independence, thoroughness and critical thinking
- Strong understanding of business issues and ability to propose pragmatic and adapted solutions

What you bring to the table
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- A minimum of eight years of relevant experience
- Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
- Experience in internal and/or external audit
- CPA or CIA designation
- Knowledge of French is required
- Intermediate advanced proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients
