About the role
Company Description
MEDFAR Clinical Solutions was founded in 2010 by two aeronautical engineers who realized that the healthcare system was not exploiting the full potential of technology. Supported by a large community of medical experts and focused on clinical success and patient safety, MEDFAR was the first company to certify a cloud-based Electronic Medical Record in Canada: MYLE (Make Your Life Easy).
Committed to promoting excellence and effectiveness in healthcare worldwide, MEDFAR differentiates itself by offering a unique healthcare management solution for clinics, which replaces inefficient processes with a faster and safer technological alternative.
Job Description
At MEDFAR, we are shaping the future of digital healthcare by delivering seamless, high-performance mobile experiences for providers and patients. As a Mobile QA Analyst, you will be the quality conscience of our cross-functional development team, embedding excellence into every stage of the SDLC. You won't just find bugs; you will define test documentation using a risk-based approach that empower our developers and Product Owners to ship with confidence.
We are looking for a proactive problem-solver who is as comfortable diving into the technical details of the mobile app lifecycle as they are collaborating on user story refinements to stop defects before they are even coded.
You bring technical expertise, a strong sense of ownership, and a collaborative mindset that contribute to building stable, high-quality products.
Responsibilities
- Manage test cases: Create and maintain comprehensive test cases, test scripts, and test plans. These will be used by developers and product owners, empowering them to identify missing user flows, execute tests and validate critical flows based on the documentation provided.
- Drive quality across the SDLC: Work closely with developers, and Product Owners as a full member of the development team, to ensure quality throughout the entire development lifecycle. Identify quality risks and work with the team to mitigate them.
- Review developer tasks and user stories: Ensure that developer tasks and user stories are well-written, contain all necessary information, and adhere to quality standards.
- Conduct Manual Testing: Conduct risk-based manual testing of iOS and Android mobile applications and mobile integration with backend services to identify defects, inconsistencies and improvement opportunities, prioritizing high-risk areas.
- Document and Communicate: Clearly document and communicate risks, testing results, issues with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis, and observations to the development team, enabling timely resolution.
Working conditions:
-Contract: Permanent, full time (40h/week) -Working mode: Hybrid or remote
- Occasional in-office presence may be required during the year (for events or team meetings, for example).
- Candidates must reside in the province of Quebec.
Qualifications
Contribute to our team with your strengths:
- Proven Experience: 3+ years in a QA role within an Agile environment, with deep expertise in functional, regression, and exploratory testing across iOS and Android platforms.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with API testing (e.g., Postman) and a solid understanding of Web SaaS architectures and iOS and Android mobile ecosystems. Experience using debugging proxy and network inspection tools (e.g., Charles Proxy, Fiddler, Proxyman) to analyze mobile traffic and validate integrations. Experience using cloud-based platforms such as BrowserStack (or equivalent) for cross-device and cross-OS testing.
- Mobile Testing Expertise: Hands-on experience testing iOS and Android mobile applications, including validation of mobile-specific user flows, gestures, permissions, push notifications, background/foreground behavior, and interruption scenarios (calls, notifications). Strong knowledge of app lifecycle and release process, permissions, and common mobile-specific defects.
- Test Design Mastery: Skilled in creating comprehensive test plans, scripts, and scenarios that ensure full coverage of complex user flows across web and mobile.
- SDLC Expertise: Thorough understanding of the SDLC and STLC, with the ability to review user stories and identify quality risks before development begins.
- Analytical Problem-Solving: Exceptional attention to detail and a quality-driven mindset, with the ability to document and triage defects (including logs and crash reports) with high precision.
- Collaboration & Mindset: Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a curious, proactive mindset and a continuous focus on improving processes and overall product quality.
