Our client, a well-established and rapidly growing company, is seeking a Payroll Technician to join their team. In this key role, you will be responsible for the entire payroll cycle, while also actively contributing to benefits management and compliance with various legal obligations.

Key Responsibilities:
- Process weekly payroll for unionized employees and bi-weekly payroll for non-unionized employees and managers.
- Manage employee benefits, including group insurance and retirement plans.
- Validate data in payroll systems and make necessary adjustments.
- Ensure accurate payments and compliance with deadlines.
- Prepare and review payroll reports.
- Respond to government agency inquiries.
- Prepare year-end tax documents.
- Update personal information and databases.
- Ensure compliance with provincial standards, collective agreements, and internal policies.
- Respond to questions from managers and employees regarding payroll and benefits.
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure efficient payroll processes.
- Perform any other related tasks as needed.

Requirements:
- DEC or relevant training in accounting or payroll.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of payroll software (e.g., ADP, Nethris, Employer D, or equivalent).
- Experience in a unionized environment (an asset).
- Knowledge of CCQ payroll (an asset).
- Excellent written and spoken French.
- Basic knowledge of English for communication with colleagues and partners outside Quebec (approx. 50% of the time).
- Strong organizational skills, rigor, and discretion.
- Legally authorized to work in Canada.
Salary: $70,000 to $72,000 per year
Schedule: Day shifts, Monday to Friday
