We are a leader in the investment management industry. Our award-winning team of in-house experts currently includes 80 team members and is growing. IIM is comprised of seven teams including the Fixed Income, Equity, Private Investment, Asset Allocation, Compliance, Trading and Transactional Support/Reporting teams. We are currently looking for an Accountant II, Investment Reporting to join the team responsible for the reporting of our investments around the world. Under the supervision of the Manager, Investment Reporting and in collaboration with other team members, our candidate will support the investment teams by contributing to the delivery of external and internal financial information related to investments. Our candidate will participate in month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes, and ensure robustness of internal controls. This hybrid position is available in our Montreal (2020 Robert-Bourassa) office.
What you’ll do here
Perform financial close processes including system feeds, key internal controls, and validation of end results in a timely manner and with the highest level of quality. Participate in the production of external financial information related to investments including the financial statements of the Group and legal entities, Management reports and Canadian regulatory reporting. Participate in the production of internal reporting on investment results for multiple entities in different countries. Work closely with other Finance teams (FP&A and Capital) on the integration of our investments results in the global reporting. Collaborate with internal and external auditors by providing necessary documentation and explanations. Continuously improve accounting and internal control processes through automation to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
What you bring to the table
2-3 years of relevant experience (investment reporting; financial reporting; financial close processes; etc) CPA designation (or in progress), or successfully passed the CFE. Ability to learn quickly. Independent and efficient, team player. Interested in and curious about investments. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities. Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) in English and French.
