About the role
We're hiring a Technical Supply Chain Manager to architect our external production ecosystem — from vendor sourcing to inventory integrity — across a growing network of 100 suppliers worldwide.
The Mission
As our Technical Supply Chain Manager, you will be the primary architect of our external production ecosystem. Reporting to the Production Director, you will bridge the gap between complex engineering designs and a scalable manufacturing footprint. Haply currently manages 500+ SKUs across three core products and a growing selection of accessories. With a quarterly output of 400+ units and climbing, you will manage an international supplier network of 100 vendors across North America, Europe, and Asia. You will own the full procurement and inventory cycle—from supporting our highly active R&D department with specialized sourcing needs to ensuring the ground-truth accuracy of our physical inventory.
Why Join Us? This is a role for a Technical Supply Chain Expert who leads by doing. We aren't looking for someone to simply manage an existing department; we need a specialist who can master the daily execution of technical sourcing and vendor management while building the infrastructure to make that work repeatable. In collaboration with the Production department, you will help standardize supply chain workflows into a scalable playbook. As Haply matures, the department may expand to include dedicated inventory or procurement roles. Success in this position means proving the strength of your sourcing strategies through hands-on excellence, potentially paving the way to lead the function as the company grows.
Day 1 Realities
We are building the plane while flying it. We are in a high-growth phase. You won't be inheriting a perfect Odoo setup; you will find deficiencies in the system and you will collaborate with the production department to fix them permanently. You will get your hands dirty. One day you'll be negotiating a $100k purchase contract; the next, you will be in the warehouse personally counting bins. While you will have help from other operations staff, you lead the effort from the front. Communication is fast and frank. There is little red tape here, but you must own your results. Success in this role requires knowing when to take independent initiative and when to pause and ask for guidance. Technical intuition is a must. If a part arrives out of spec, you don't wait for a report; you're already working on a solution in lockstep with the engineering team, quality control, and the manufacturer. Process diligence is led by example. Many internal processes are missing or only partially implemented. In collaboration with the rest of the department, you will help implement new workflows where they don't exist, and where they do, you will uphold them and encourage others to do the same. Meeting deadlines clashes with correct procedure. In your daily work, you must uphold efficient processes and identify pain points. You are expected to highlight risks clearly when compromises between speed and procedure must be taken.
What You Will Own
The Vendor Network: Lead on identifying, vetting, and recommending manufacturers for custom parts (CNC, Sheet Metal, Injection Molding) and complex sub-assemblies. You own the transition of production between vendors to optimize for cost, quality, and scale. Procurement Cycle & Odoo Data: Own the end-to-end procurement process. This includes issuing POs and actively tracking supply timelines to meet the manufacturing forecasts set by the Production Director. Inventory Integrity: You are the guardian of our "physical truth." You own the monthly inventory audit process and personally perform physical counts and reconciliations within Odoo to ensure 100% data integrity. Technical Vendor Relations: Serve as the primary contact for our supply base. You own the resolution of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), holding vendors accountable to specs and ensuring swift corrective actions.
What You Will Support
Engineering & R&D: Provide "Design for Manufacturing" (DFM) feedback and identify vendors capable of bringing new technical designs to life. Internal Production: Monitor part levels within our production process, ensuring the assembly team has the visibility and components needed to meet build schedules. Operations: With support from the Production Director, you will contribute to writing SOPs when it pertains to your process to solidify those procedures for future employees. Logistics & Brokerage: Partner with our Logistics Coordinator to provide strategic direction on shipping lanes, landed cost reduction, and international brokerage strategies to ensure all parts arrive on time. Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the Quality Lead to ensure vendor performance aligns with internal standards. Occasional Travel: Travel may be required for supplier visits, audits, production support, and industry conferences.
Requirements
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience: 6+ years in technical sourcing or supply chain, specifically within a hardware or physical product environment. Technical Skills: Expert ability to read/interpret 2D & 3D technical drawings (GD&T). Experience with PCBA and outsourcing assemblies is a significant plus. Software Mastery: High proficiency in Odoo (or similar ERP) and Google Sheets.
Language
Requirement: Professional proficiency in both French and English. Asset: Fluency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese.
Who You Are
The Technical Filter: You can evaluate a supplier's shop floor and technical capabilities to ensure they can actually build what we design. The Autonomous Owner: You identify "leaks" in the supply chain or inventory discrepancies and drive the solution. The Collaborative Specialist: You speak the languages of "Engineering," "Quality," and "Production," contributing your expertise to a team that is greater than the sum of its parts.
What's great in the job? Great team of smart people, in a friendly and open culture. No waste of time in enterprise processes, real responsibilities and autonomy. Expand your knowledge of various business industries. Real responsibilities and challenges in a fast evolving company.
