Thompson Construction Group has an immediate opening for a Shop Labourer based out of our Spruce Grove operations centre. This position supports the day-to-day upkeep of the shop and yard and assists with general labour tasks to help maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

This role is well suited for individuals looking for hands-on work in a shop and yard environment and may be a good starting point for those interested in the construction or heavy equipment industry.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain cleanliness of the shop and yard, including picking up debris and garbage
• Perform seasonal yard maintenance such as snow removal and lawn mowing
• Assist with general shop and yard organization
• Move tools, materials, and parts as directed
• Assist with basic labour tasks around the shop as required
• Follow safe work practices in accordance with Thompson Construction Group policies and procedures

Qualifications:

• Minimum 18 years of age
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
• Physically capable of performing labour-intensive work and working outdoors in various weather conditions
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
• Mechanical interest or experience with tools and equipment is considered an asset but not required
• Experience operating a skid steer and/or small forklift in a yard or shop environment is considered an asset
