Lead Hand Heavy Duty Mechanic
Tiger is seeking a Lead Hand Journeyman Mechanic with CVIP Ticket to safely inspect, maintain and repair our fleet to ensure its ability to operate efficiently and safely. They will provide daily functional direction to mechanics.
As part of our hiring process, successful candidates will be required to complete a pre-employment screening, which will include drug and alcohol testing as well as a background check.

WHAT YOU WILL DO IN THIS ROLE:
- Provide leadership, mentoring and training to mechanics.
- Assist mechanics with troubleshooting.
- Generate work orders on the weekend shifts.
- Perform maintenance and repair of heavy trucks and trailers.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance.
- Completion of work orders.
- Diagnose cause of any malfunction and perform repairs to manufacturer's specifications.
- Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general workshop cleaning duties.
- Adhere and promote Tiger’s HSE policies and procedures.
- Maintain a record of all work tasks on work orders in the TMT system.
- Support and encourage continuous improvement in work practices.
- Some out of hours work may be required on a call out basis.
- Perform related work as required.
- Completing daily job hazard assessments.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with CVIP ticket.

Minimum 5 years experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity within a maintenance shop environment.

A Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver’s license would be considered an asset
-
Experience with Cummins engines, hydraulic system, Super B, and Managers plus computer program would be considered an asset.

Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power-driven equipment and tools.

Working knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.

Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and heavy equipment

Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports.

Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures.

Familiarity with the TMT software application would be considered an asset.

Has a collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization demonstrating an open, honest, and consistent approach to working with others.

Ability to supervise crews of 6 or more employees.

Ability to work independently and to ensure quality completion of multiple projects.
