About the role
The Supervisor, Grounds Maintenance Crews is responsible for the organization and day-to-day operations of the Summer Grounds Maintenance Crew program. Further responsible for ensuring that the general building and property at Redpath North Bay is maintained at high level standard at all times.
Successful applicant will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment drug and alcohol evaluation.
- Supervise the daily activities of summer Grounds Maintenance Crews in North Bay, Ontario
- Plan all activities for the crews, with the assistance of the HR Manager
- Instruct employees in the safe and proper use of equipment to be used in the maintenance of Redpath’s North Bay properties
- Perform grounds maintenance duties during the spring and fall when the high school summer students are not available
- Coordinate work for students indoors when there is inclement or harsh weather conditions/temperatures
- Assist in the interview process of candidates
- Set up the crew assignments for the work term for each summer grounds crew employee
- Determine needed supplies and equipment for minor jobs that will be completed by the summer students
- Prepare and maintain records of major work assignments
- Works with Receptionist and HR Manager to meet the needs of the facility, and maintenance-related projects
- Assist with co-ordination of building events (e.g. fire drills, weekly summer BBQ)
- Drive company vehicle when picking up required supplies
$18.32–$20.62 per hour, based on skills and experience

Education and Work Experience:
- Currently attending College or University
- Experience in landscaping and/or yard and building maintenance
- Experience working with children and teenagers; supervision experience is an asset
Knowledge Required:
- Operation and care of grounds keeping equipment – lawn mowers, riding tractor
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Possess a valid Driver's License, minimum G2
- First Aid Certification an asset
