About the role
Job Description The Mobile Device Administrator is responsible for managing and securing Seaspan Shipyards mobile technology ecosystem, including iPads, cell phones, smart devices and other ruggedized hardware used across production facilities, warehouses, and corporate offices. This role ensures reliable connectivity, compliance with security standards, and optimal performance of devices critical to business operations. The position collaborates closely with stakeholders in the business and Information Technology to align mobile solutions with enterprise applications and is responsible for the complete asset lifecycle of mobile devices.
Note: This position qualifies for an optional hybrid work schedule after 90 days of onsite work and onboarding. Employee will be subject to the terms of the Flexible Work Policy Agreement. What You'll Do
- Device Lifecycle Management: Configure, deploy, and maintain iPads, smart devices and other mobile hardware using MDM solutions such as Microsoft Intune and SOTI.
- Asset Lifecycle Management: Manage the full lifecycle of mobile assets, including budgeting, procurement, deployment, maintenance, upgrades, and decommissioning.
- Collaboration: Work closely with end users and Information Technology to ensure mobile device configurations and applications integrate seamlessly with our IT systems and operational workflows.
- Security Compliance: Implement and enforce mobile security protocols, including encryption, multi-factor authentication, and remote wipe capabilities to protect sensitive company data.
- Application Management: Manage the installation and updates of enterprise applications (in collaboration with Systems Analysts) and productivity tools on iPads, smart devices and other mobile hardware.
- Monitoring and Reporting: Maintain accurate inventory of all mobile devices and accessories; generate compliance and usage reports for IT leadership.
- User Support: Provide hands-on technical assistance to end users for device setup, connectivity, and troubleshooting.
- Policy Development: Collaborate with IT leadership to develop mobile device policies aligned with regulatory, compliance and safety standards.
- Incident Response: Respond promptly to device-related security incidents or operational disruptions.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3+ years in IT administration, with at least 2 years in mobile device management within a manufacturing and/or warehousing environment.
- Preferred certifications include CompTIA Mobility+, Microsoft Intune, or equivalent MDM platform certifications.
- Technical proficiency in MDM platforms (Microsoft Intune, SOTI), iOS, Android
- Understanding of mobile technology requirements in a manufacturing and/or warehousing environments, including connectivity challenges and device durability.
- Strong knowledge of the asset lifecycle processes, inventory control, and procurement best practices.
- Ability to work effectively with end users and other IT teams.
- Strong knowledge of mobile security best practices and compliance frameworks relevant to a manufacturing and/or warehousing environment.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues under time-sensitive conditions.
- Clear and effective communication skills for supporting end users and documenting policies.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Customer Service Orientated and committed to providing the highest level of end user support.
- Printer/DHCP Server Management is an asset.
- familiarity with Zebra Printer and Honeywell Scanner.
- Bartender Server experience is an asset.
- Service now and Jira Management experience is an asset.

The estimated salary for this position is $99,000 - $121,0000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skillset and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
