Job Description See Ya Later Ranch is located in Okanagan Falls “The Heart of Wine Country”. One of the oldest and largest estate wineries in the Okanagan, we are considered a must for most visitors to the valley. We are a proud member of the Great Estates Okanagan, featuring premium, award winning VQA wines in the south Okanagan.
POSITION: Sous Chef - PATIO RESTAURANT & Events LOCATION: SEE YA LATER RANCH, Okanagan Falls, BC **STATUS: SEASONAL HOURLY CONTRACT (April to October)
COMPENSATION: $25/hr** THE OPPORTUNITY As the See Ya Later Ranch Sous Chef you play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our customers’ satisfaction by creating lasting memories with exceptional food to complement our award-winning wines.
DAILY LIFE
- Assist Winery Chef in leading a team to prepare and execute daily service and private events
- Coordinate daily tasks with kitchen team
- Operate and maintain all kitchen equipment
- Ensure that the preparation, production, and presentation of food are always of the highest quality.
- Maintain inventory of kitchen and food supplies (ordering).
- Receiving food deliveries.
- Daily opening, closing and cleaning duties as requested by our Winery Chef; A prepared team and clean restaurant are essential for positive guest experiences!
Requirements
- Minimum four years’ kitchen experience, (Red Seal preferred)
- Courteous, friendly, professional attitude – demonstrated Emotional Intelligence
- Detail oriented, multitasking ability and strong work ethic required – both individually and in a team
- Culinary expertise in various cooking techniques and cuisine.
- Food Safe & WHIMIS
- Experience in supervising a small team and staff scheduling
- Able to lift 40lbs, work in hot summer temperatures & stand for long periods of time
- Able to work weekends throughout the season and evenings for weddings and other events.
