About the role
As a Member Services Representative, you are often the first point of contact
for members, participants, and guests visiting our facility. You play a critical role in creating positive first impressions, delivering outstanding customer service, and ensuring members feel welcomed, supported, and connected to the YMCA community.
Reporting to the Member Services Manager and Supervisors, you will support
membership services, customer experience, daily administrative operations, and the promotion of YMCA programs and initiatives. Your work helps create a welcoming environment where people of all ages and backgrounds can thrive.

The Member Services Representative is essential to delivering exceptional

WHAT YOU WILL DO
In this role, you will support the day-to-day operation of Member Services while
delivering exceptional customer experiences.
- Welcome members, participants, visitors, and guests in a friendly, professional, and inclusive manner.
- Process memberships, program registrations, account updates, and related transactions accurately.
- Perform cashiering duties and handle cash, debit, credit card, and Point of Sale transactions.
- Provide facility tours and educate prospective members on YMCA programs, services, and membership options.
- Respond to telephone, email, and in-person inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain member accounts and ensure accurate record keeping and data entry.
- Support the overall administration and operational effectiveness of the department through filing, data management, and clerical tasks.
- Assist with membership sales activities and promote YMCA programs, services, and special events.
- Accept donations and support fundraising, volunteerism, and philanthropic initiatives.
- Manage multiple priorities while maintaining exceptional service standards in a busy customer-focused environment.
- Resolve customer concerns professionally and escalate issues when appropriate.
- Contribute to a safe, welcoming, and positive experience for members, staff, volunteers, and guests.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Minimum three (3) years of customer service and/or sales experience.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience handling cash and processing financial transactions accurately.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and general computer applications.
- Experience with membership management or recreation software systems is considered an asset.
- Working knowledge of ActiveNet software is an asset.
- Standard First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while contributing positively to a team environment.
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and problem-solving abilities.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
As part of a trusted charitable organization, successful candidates will be
required to:
- Provide three professional references (e.g., employer, supervisor, or colleague).
- Provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Search issued no later than six (6) months prior to the start date. The YMCA will provide applicable instructions and paperwork.
