Position Summary
The APN provides advanced clinical care and leadership, mentors staff, and drives research and quality initiatives. They integrate evidence-based practice and digital tools to improve care and influence system-level change within interprofessional teams.
Responsibilities
Models ethical practice, advances nursing vision; evaluates programs; leads committees; shares expertise broadly Practices self-awareness, continuous learning, and aligns growth with organizational priorities Fosters a positive environment, communicates inclusively, and supports high-performing teams. Implements evidence-based strategies, sets goals, and ensures accountability. Engages patients, families, staff, and partners; promotes evidence sharing across teams. Drives system improvements through critical thinking, innovation, and proactive problem-solving. Plans and evaluates education for staff, patients, and families; disseminates knowledge; mentors nurses in advanced practice. Applies research-based innovations; appraises evidence; leads research; and acts as a knowledge broker. Provides expert consultation; collaborates on quality and risk management, and builds partnerships to improve care. Demonstrates research and evaluation expertise; applies evidence effectively.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in nursing. 5+ years of experience in nursing, mental health, and addictions. Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario. Advanced clinical expertise in mental health and addictions (e.g., CPR, Crisis Intervention Training). Demonstrated leadership, program development and education skills. Experienced/knowledgeable in research and evaluation principles. Proficiency in Office 365, data analysis tools (SPSS, NVIVO), and EHR systems (Meditech, EPIC). Excellent organizational, interpersonal, critical thinking, and decision-making skills. Research, teaching and consulting skills Excellent communication skills – oral & written Proven ability in working effectively with all members of health care team Ability to determine feasibility of potential research, educational or clinical initiatives Critical thinking and problem-solving. English Level A- mandatory; bilingual (French/English) an asset.

Salary Range: 58.63 to 67.97 per hour
