About the role
Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a well established heavy civil construction company specializing in heavy civil excavation and flatworks, pipeline placement, concrete placement, and asphalt paving. Our team has an upcomingtwo-monthproject in**Oxford, NS,**expected to start in April. We are looking to hire qualified individuals that live within a reasonable commute to our jobsite to join our team for the duration of the project.
Requirements:
-
3+ years of experience operating an excavator.
-
Experience doing finish grade work required.

Solid understanding of construction, maintenance techniques & how to safely use equipment.

Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to perform routine equipment maintenance.

Valid class 5 drivers license and reliable transportation to and from the worksite.

Effective time management skills with the ability to manage many tasks.
-
Possess a positive attitude and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
-
Heavy Equipment Operator trade certification considered an asset.
Duties & Responsibilities:
-
Check equipment before operating to ensure that mechanical, safety and emergency components are in good working order.

Clean, lubricate, and perform other maintenance work as required.

Use the excavator to load trucks with soil, gravel and other materials.

Perform rough and finish grading and leveling.
-
Keep detailed and accurate reports and documentation.
-
Communicate any unsafe conditions or accident/injuries immediately to the supervisor.

Adhere to workplace safety policies, regulation, and compliance.

Other duties as required.
