About the role
As an Assembler (Mechanic Level Experience), you will fit and assemble components according to engineering diagrams and documents to build equipment that is dedicated to the rugged and challenging terrain of the forestry industry. To excel in this role, a combination of technical skills is required, including problem solving and strong mechanical aptitude. Experience with fluid power systems, engine systems, electrical and electronic systems as well as drive train systems is required.
**Location:**160 Consolidated Drive, Paris, ON
**Dedicated Day Shift:**3:30pm 2:00am, Monday – Thursday
**Dedicated Afternoon Shift:**3:30pm - 2:00am, Monday - Thursday
Shift Premium:$3.00 per hour for afternoons
Job Duties
- Read and thoroughly understand detailed assembly instructions, engineering diagrams, schematics, and parts lists to ensure meticulous assembly through fit and alignment.
- Utilize hand, power, and pneumatic tools to complete assembly tasks.
- Operate lifting devices such as cranes (overhead and/or jib) to complete large assembly installations.
- Complete final machine assembly which may include decking, setting pressures and speed settings, as well as installing and programming attachments.
- Verify that the assembled equipment functions correctly and adheres to quality standards to prevent faulty products from reaching customers.
- Repair or replace defective assemblies, components, accessories, and attachments.
Skills and Experience
- Adapt to a changing work environment, competing demands and able to deal with frequent changes, delays, or unexpected events.
- Required to inspect, identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot hydraulic, electrical, mechanical and diesel system issues.
- Assembly tasks require collaboration with coworkers; effective communication and reasoning skills are essential when working on projects that involve multiple team members.
Qualifications
- Previous related experience maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing mobile heavy-duty equipment used in construction, transportation, forestry, mining, oil and gas, material handling, landscaping, land clearing, farming, and similar activities.
- Proven mechanical abilities in hydraulics, engines, electrical and electronic systems, including schematics and diagnostics.
- Preferred training within areas of interest: heavy-duty equipment technician, diesel mechanic / truck and coach technician, heavy-duty equipment mechanic, or motive power technician
