About the role
Job Description Title: Sealer/Prepper Department: Paint Reports To: Production Supervisor Overview The primary role of the Sealer/Prepper is to prepare equipment for painting through sealing, masking, sanding and other applications. Roles & Responsibilities Operate sealing equipment or use filler to fill holes, dents, and seams. File, grind, and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools. Mask and tape surfaces in preparation for painting. Mix, blend, and match paint colors. Apply primers and repaint surfaces using brush or spray guns. Monitor parts usage and report on any materials issues. Assist in ordering replacement equipment, parts and supplies. Perform in a team environment with minimal supervision. Performs all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Completion of college/vocational or technical training in a related field is an asset. Previous experience working with sheet metal is an asset. Previous autobody prep experience is an asset. Ability to work independently. Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing The ability to read and interpret blueprints is an asset. Must have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs. Must be able to distinguish colors. Working Conditions Commercial/Industrial environment. Manual dexterity required to use necessary tools. Exercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards. Always adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
