About the role
The Care Group (“TCG”) offers high-quality residential care services to complex care clients in 8 homes throughout the Lower Mainland and Vancouver Island.

THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for Handyman/Woman Maintenance Worker to join our Sidney Care team in Sidney, B.C.
Shifts: 20-30hours per week. Flexible availability, sometimes on-call (emergency) so preferably to live close by.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience in building or facility maintenance.

Knowledge of and capability to complete tasks relating to general painting, plumbing, carpentry, electrical, and gardening.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.

COVID-19 Vaccine
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain a checklist record of maintenance routines
- Ability to communicate professionally with residents, staff, and visitors
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs, move furniture, pick up deliveries from hardware stores
- Must be physically fit, adaptable, and is an effective team member
Duties:
- Inspects operating condition of all equipment daily.
- Inspects alarm, call, and security systems and logs information daily.
- Diagnoses equipment malfunctions
- Ensures the safety of the building, equipment, staff, and residents.
- Complete general repairs to electrical, plumbing, and other building components commensurate with the capabilities of an experienced maintenance trade person

Sidney Care is located on Vancouver Island in sunny Sidney, BC and offers residential care to 54 clients. Sidney Care has been in operation for many years and provides a home like environment to its residents.
The facility was recently renovated and is tastefully decorated.
Sidney Care works in collaboration with the Vancouver Island Health Authority, to ensure quality care to all of our clients.
