About the role
Education: College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 3 months to less than 1 year. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Commercial dental laboratory. Tasks: Prepare plaster models and moulds. Mould wax over dentures set-up. Sterilize and maintain instruments and equipment. Finish metal framework of dentures. Prepare wax bite-blocks and impression trays. Make orthodontic bands from metal and alloys. Polish and buff dentures. Technical expertise (dental): Plastering. Packing. Waxing-up. Casting. Polishing. Assembly. Computer and technology knowledge: MS Outlook. MS Word. Equipment, eystems and controls experience: Medical and biomedical equipment and systems. Area of specialization: Full dentures. Partial dentures. Crowns and bridges. Ceramic or porcelain application. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Tight deadlines. Repetitive tasks. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail.
