Position Summary

The Production Summer Student will support the day to day operations of the Production Department under the direct supervision of Production Superintendents. This role offers hands on experience in a fast paced food processing environment and provides exposure to quality standards, production processes, documentation practices, and employee engagement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Task Procedure Development and Training Support

• Assist with SOP development and standardization.
• Provide implementation support by assisting Superintendents and Supervisors with rollout and communication.
• Support the development of training materials such as job aids and quick reference guides.
• Gather employee feedback to help refine SOPs and ensure consistency across shifts and departments.
• Identify gaps, redundancies, or manual workarounds in current processes and support system and process optimization through clean up, standardization, and documentation.

Process Improvement and Documentation

• Assist in collecting and analyzing production data to support the identification of yield and labor variances.
• Help develop a troubleshooting guide for the multi cut system, including common miscuts and potential root causes.
• Support documentation activities including production records, end of shift reports, and closure processes.

Cross Functional Collaboration

• Complete assigned tasks involving other departments such as Maintenance, Human Resources, and Quality Assurance.
• Participate in operational discussions with Supervisors and Superintendents to gain insight into planning processes.
