This role is hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and suited to someone who knows their way around formwork, framing, finishing, and everything in between.You’ll work closely with the site superintendent, interpret drawings and specifications accurately, and complete tasks safely and efficiently. If you’re someone who shows up prepared, communicates well, and can adapt to changing site needs, you’ll fit right in.Interpret drawings, specifications, building codes, and direction from the superintendentLay foundations, plan task sequences, and carry out all carpentry‑related activitiesEstimate and select materials required for tasks to ensure adequate supplyPrepare framing for concrete, mix and pour cement, and build/remove structural formworkPerform internal and external structural repairsConstruct stairs, framework, and other structural components using proper tools and fastening systemsSet up scaffolding and work safely at heightsOperate and maintain carpentry tools and equipmentMaintain daily task logs and support preventative maintenance schedulesCollaborate with the superintendent and follow established quality control systemsAdhere to all safety policies, procedures, and regulationsQualificationsMinimum requirements:Journeyperson Carpenter Certificate (Red Seal preferred; willingness to obtain Red Seal required)Registered 1st-4th year Apprentice CarpentersActively working in the trade with strong knowledge of construction practices and safety protocolsProficiency in blueprint reading, layout, and materials estimationCompetency with hand and power tools, and safe work proceduresCSTS 2020 (required)WHMIS 2015 (required)First Aid/CPR (preferred)Strong mathematical and analytical skillsAbility to work effectively with minimal supervisionClear communication with superintendent, crew, and other stakeholdersAdaptability and solid time‑management skillsNice to HaveExperience with a large general contractorConcrete and formwork experienceValid driver’s licence and clean abstractCertifications such as Fall Protection, Elevating Work Platforms, or other site‑related ticketsAdditional RequirementsAs part of the recruitment process, selected candidates may be required to complete a pre‑employment physical assessment to confirm ability to perform the essential functions of the role safely.Additional InformationChandos is an equal opportunity employer and we are committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive culture and this includes our recruitment and hiring process.
