Are You Ready To Make a Lasting Impact On Young Learners This Summer? The Superior-Greenstone District School Board Is Seeking Enthusiastic, Creative, And Dedicated Educators To Lead a Dynamic Summer Learning Program Focusing On Literacy, Numeracy, And Wellness For Students In Kindergarten To Grade 6. These Face-to-face, (camp Timing Flexible For Applicants In July) Programs Will Be Offered In The Following Regions
Manitouwadge (2 positions)
Marathon (2 positions) Schreiber/Terrace Bay (2 positions) Nipigon/Red Rock/Dorion (2 positions)
Contract Details
This commitment includes three full days of planning (remote) followed by one week of program delivery. Programs will be delivered in-person and emphasize literacy, numeracy, and mental health and wellness.
What You Need To Apply
Valid teaching certification (preferred) or relevant qualifications. Experience working with elementary (K-6) students. Familiarity with the Science of Reading principles and effective numeracy strategies. Strong communication and management skills. Relevant education or training in child and youth work, educational support, or a related field. Outdoor education experience is a strong asset. Post-Secondary education or certification in a related field is preferred (social work/mental health).
Skills & Attributes
Ability to build literacy and numeracy skills through engaging, student-centered approaches. Foundational understanding of wellness, with strategies to support students' social-emotional growth. Willingness to incorporate outdoor components into daily lessons, leveraging local landscapes for hands-on learning. Foundational understanding of wellness, including social-emotional strategies to help students succeed. Collaborative mindset for working alongside fellow educators and community partners. Adaptable and resourceful to meet diverse student needs.
