Job Duties
Check links and content prior to the start of the course, update resources as needed, communicate with students regularly, mark assignments, monitor student progress, provide timely and constructive feedback, manage and review exam submissions as required, finalize official grades.
Create an outline for the day, submit packing list(s) to the lab, prepare the room and supplies prior to the start time and cleanup afterwards (anything not done by lab technician staff), teach and demonstrate related skills, provide scenarios and answer student’s questions, complete performance skill testing as required, submit any required paperwork to required regulatory bodies and to Continuing Education.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EXPERIENCE

Required Qualifications

Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene Program
-
Current license to practice Dental Hygiene in Saskatchewan
-
Undergraduate course in Local Anesthesia or graduate of a Local Anesthesia Module
-
Minimum of two years recent and relevant (two years within the last five years) dental hygienist experience in a dental office or teaching in a dental program .
-
Comprehensive knowledge of current local anesthesia principle and techniques.
-
Recent experience in teaching local anesthesia skills to dental hygienists and/or recent experience performing local anesthesia skills in a clinical environment.

Ability to apply basic principles and practices of adult education to assist learners with the required knowledge and skills.

Strong computer skills

Demonstrates valuing diversity.
