This position is located at the University of Regina Campus in Saskatoon, SK (not Regina, SK)
The Faculty of Social Work (FSW) at the University of Regina is all about preparing passionate individuals for impactful social work practice. We’re expanding our team and looking for our next Agency Outreach and Practicum Placement Coordinator. This role will be at the heart of connecting our students with invaluable practicum experiences. It’s all about matching their learning goals with the perfect agency, ensuring a win-win situation for both student and organization.
The FSW prepares students for critical generalist social work practice with diverse peoples through education, research, and community practice. Informed by the principles of indigenization, sustainability, and social justice, the social work program encourages students to identify the needs of the disadvantaged, marginalized, and oppressed. The FSW supports students in developing the commitment, knowledge, values, attitudes, and skills required to confront structural inequalities and to empower individuals, families, and communities to realize their full potential.
To best serve Saskatchewan’s diverse population, the FSW offers the full Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) and Master of Social Work (MSW) programs at its Regina and Saskatoon Campuses.This position is located in Saskatoon, SK.
Reporting to the Director, Finance & Administration and to the Field Education Coordinator, this position will facilitate agency outreach and student practicum placements in the Faculty of Social Work.
Practicum placement matching involves assessing practicum candidates’ learning goals, matching candidates with suitable practicum agencies while ensuring strong student learning opportunities which are mutually beneficial to the student and agency, free of potential conflicts of interest, and in accordance with National Accreditation Standards.
This position is also responsible for the research, development, implementation and evaluation of effective practicum agency recruitment and retention strategies to ensure the Faculty of Social Work consistently provides its students with academically strong practicum experiences in a variety of areas, under the mentorship of qualified, inspiring, and properly vetted field instructors and human service agencies.
What You’ll Do
- Facilitates all aspects of the placement process for SW348 and SW448 undergraduate practica;
- Provide information sessions for determining student interest;
- Determine student academic eligibility for practica;
- Interview students to determine learning objectives for practica;
- Assists students with resume development and interview preparation;
- Determine placement availability in community agencies; student placement, follow-up and confirmation with community agencies;
- Review, explore and cultivate potential practicum opportunities wherever possible by developing, implementing, delivering and evaluating practicum agency information sessions;
- Attend community events and networking opportunities with local government ministries and non-profit organizations to develop strong working relationships;
- Facilitate student placement, follow-up and confirmation with community agencies;

The University of Regina Faculty of Social Work office is located at 111-116 Research Drive in Saskatoon. As of June 1, 2026, the office will be relocated to 2225 Northridge Drive in Saskatoon.
Position Requirements

What You’ll Bring to this Position
- Bachelor of Social Work combined with a minimum of 4 years of social work practice experience;
- Knowledge of community resources, agencies and organizations related to social work;
- Must be registered or eligible to become registered with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW);
Skills That Will Ensure Your Success in the Role:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access;
- Complex database experience;
- Ability to gather data, compile information, make analytical assessments, and prepare reports;
- Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities;
- Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community;
- Demonstrated ability to learn new software;
- Ability to contribute to group/team environment which has a student-oriented focus;
- Ability to foresee potential problems and take appropriate actions to mitigate or avoid these problems;
- Able to network and create strong communication plans for various program stakeholders;
- Knowledge of the University of Regina – Faculty of Social Work is considered an asset;
- Strong attention to detail; and,
- Knowledge and awareness of University of Regina systems, processes, policies and procedures is a definite asset.
- Class 5 driver’s license.

Physical Demands Pay Grade APT 3 Salary Range $62,088.00 - $83,816.00 Annually Status Permanent Work Hours
This position is located at the University of Regina Campus in Saskatoon, SK (not Regina, SK)
Monday to Friday, 8:15 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Work may be required outside regular operating hours. Some travel within Saskatchewan may be required throughout the year.
