Ranch Ehrlo Society has an exciting volunteer opportunity opening up at Sport Venture! If you are looking for a chance to impact the lives of young people, then we have a spot for you! Volunteering is direct way for you to give back to your community, positively impact the lives of others and use your leadership skills. We are currently recruiting volunteer soccer coaches for our barrier-free community league to work alongside our Staff Ambassadors who will support you in your role.
As a soccer coach, you will support the players helping them reach their full potential using the power of sport. The role of a coach within our program includes developing skills and drills, but more importantly, we value the positive mentorship and relationship building that occurs between the player and coach. Sessions also focus on developing social skills, cooperation and teamwork. Your role will include assessing participants abilities and provide skill development opportunities that meets their social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs. You will be expected to model and teach the values of fair play and ethical behavior always. You will motivate athletes through praise and positive recognition, and work towards developing the athletes’ self-worth, confidence and autonomy. Our coaches focus on our players strengths while offering safe space to play and have fun! About Ranch Ehrlo Society
Ranch Ehrlo, a non-profit organization, was founded by the late Dr. Geoff Pawson in 1966. It started as a single home for six boys with significant complex needs and grew to a multi-service agency delivering a wide range of accredited mental health and developmental services delivered in southern Saskatchewan and in and around Saskatoon and Prince Albert. Our services include assessment and psychotherapy for members of the broader community, family treatment and reunification, early learning, vocational training, emergency receiving services, treatment foster care, affordable housing, residential treatment, and education for children and youth with mental health and addictions needs, residential care for older adolescents and adults with pervasive and complex developmental disorders, and community recreation and sports programs for at-risk youth. Our clients are referred from across the country.
