- A strong research track record in the fields of quantum error correction codes and/or fault-tolerant quantum computing, demonstrated by peer-reviewed publications and/or top-tier conference presentations
- Advanced knowledge of concepts and methods of topological quantum error correction codes (e.g., surface codes and colour codes), stabilizer formalism and lattice surgery
- Research experience with quantum low-density parity-check codes (qLDPC codes) would be a strong asset
- Proficiency in scientific programming skills in any language (e.g., Python, C/C++, Rust, Julia)
Additional Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of related mathematical subdisciplines, such as group theory and topology
- Familiarity with decoders and decoding algorithms for quantum error correction
- Knowledge of quantum channels and quantum noise models
- Familiarity with quantum resource estimation
- Knowledge of computational complexity, design and asymptotic analysis of algorithms
- Familiarity with classical optimization theory would be a great asset
- Unix/Linux and software development skills
- Research independence: the ability to take responsibility and initiative to conduct your research as it is required in working towards the common goal.
