About the role
Job Description:
HOW YOU WILL DO IT
The Sales & Marketing Manager is a role with three distinct responsibilities:
Market research is where it all begins. From customer feedback to competitor analysis and everything in between, you’re always searching for novel insights. You prefer quantitative data but have a strong intuition and love experimentation.
Building our marketing strategy is at the heart of this role. The goal is to get qualified leads in front of our sales specialists. How that happens is entirely up to you, though we know it must be a multi-channel approach. PPC ads, referral management, comparison sites, organic traffic, and OOH advertising may all be part of our portfolio – and you’ll need to optimize our limited budget (money and time) across it all. The more compelling your strategy and its performance, the more resources you’ll receive to bring it to life. You’ll be responsible for all monthly marketing forecasts, including expected lead gen by channel, per-channel expenses, return on ad spend, and any variance analysis as required.
Ideas are only as strong as their execution, and you’ll lead the charge in marketing and sales implementation. As the Sales & Marketing Director, you’ll be the primary point of contact for all third-party agencies and vendors, overseeing timelines and deliverables across both domains. You’ll represent Sales & Marketing in all internal discussions and lead our sales team in refining its strategies based on real-time data. Your remit includes forecasting sales outcomes, optimizing conversion rates, and ensuring our sales collateral is impactful and up to date. You’ll continuously track and adjust performance metrics across campaigns and through the sales pipeline, ensuring alignment with our business goals.
Job Qualifications
- 5+ years of marketing experience, with a preference given to those with a sales-driven digital B2B background.
- A proven outside-of-the-box thinker who can evaluate and tweak approaches based on a comprehensive understanding of our business goals and received feedback. Incorporating real-time data and meeting regular deadlines is expected.
- Extremely comfortable with taking directions, making independent decisions, and providing well-organized written, quantitatively supported arguments for your choices. Taking the initiative will be critical in this role.
- We’re learning together, so having a positive, constructive attitude will be critical to your success. A sense of humor will be helpful, too.
- Knowledge of SEO and website optimization best practices are a plus.
- We’ve adopted HubSpot as an organization, and working knowledge will be an asset.
- Given the remote nature of the role, you must have a dedicated workspace in your home, a reliable internet connection, and a willingness to be on camera regularly.
- Proficient with the Gmail, Gsheets or Excel, and working knowledge of AI prompting to leverage Gemini in your work.
- Possess exemplary written, verbal, listening, and presentation skills.
The Marketing Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy Ownership and Execution: Lead the development and
daily execution of a marketing strategy that amplifies brand reach, awareness,
and market share. As our primary brand ambassador, take ownership of brand
initiatives and messaging across all channels. Serve as project manager for the
marketing function, setting clear priorities, maintaining a detailed marketing calendar, and ensuring all campaigns and initiatives are delivered on time.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis: Conduct ongoing market
research to refine our understanding of the competition, our unique value
proposition, and the ideal customer profile. Explore new market segments and
identify opportunities for strategic partnerships. Engage with industry organizations to position Pike13 as a thought leader and proactively share your insights with the Product and Sales teams to align on market needs
and growth opportunities.
Performance Tracking and Analytics: Own the analysis of marketing results
and leverage quantitative data to optimize campaigns continually. Track key
metrics like lead generation, conversion rates, and cost-per-acquisition to assess ROI. Use data insights to drive forecasting accuracy, refine the strategy, and adapt quickly to emerging trends or challenges.
Website Ownership and Conversion Optimization: Manage the website,
enhancing the user experience to increase engagement, drive traffic, and boost
conversions. Own the content strategy, SEO optimization, and design improvements to make the site an effective tool for lead generation and a strong
reflection of our brand.
Vendor and Partnership Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with
advertising agencies, SEO consultants, and other third-party experts to enhance
our strategy. Ensure alignment with our marketing goals and maximize the value
of these partnerships, coordinating campaigns and maintaining consistency
across channels.
The Sales Responsibilities
Sales Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales
strategy aligned with company goals. Establish clear targets for sales growth,
revenue, and customer acquisition, with specific tactics to penetrate the martial
arts and emerging verticals.
Reporting and Forecasting: Track sales performance and provide regular
reporting on KPIs, forecasts, and sales metrics. Use data-driven insights to refine sales tactics and identify areas for improvement.
Revenue Growth and Expansion: Take ownership of sales targets and KPIs,
ensuring revenue growth and expanding the customer base. Implement strategies for upselling and cross-selling to current clients.
Market Analysis and Positioning: Analyze competitors and trends, refining the
sales approach to address market demands and enhance competitive positioning. Identify opportunities for product expansion and market share growth, focusing on differentiating Pike13 from alternatives.
