**Position Title:**Sales Professional, Meat Trader
**Location:**Greater Toronto Area, Ontario
Starting Minimum:$60,000/year
**Job Type:**Full Time Permanent
Position Summary: WorldSource is seeking an experienced Sales Professional / Meat Trader to grow and manage our Eastern Canada business, with a primary focus on the Greater Toronto Area. This role is responsible for trading and selling high quality international meat products while expanding existing relationships and developing new market opportunities.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned protein professional with strong industry relationships, deep product knowledge, and a proven ability to trade profitably, manage risk, and grow accounts. While WorldSource has an established presence in the Halal market, this role will further expand that segment while also developing additional channels across the protein industry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Grow and manage an established customer base across Eastern Canada.
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in the GTA and surrounding markets
- Source, trade, and sell international meat products including beef, pork, poultry, lamb, goat, and value added proteins.
- Expand and support Halal programs while developing new customer segments.
- Develop pricing strategies and product positioning based on market conditions.
- Monitor market trends, supply/demand dynamics, and competitive activity.
- Collaborate with procurement, logistics, operations, and finance to ensure execution excellence.
- Manage inventory levels and support timely, accurate order fulfillment.
- Oversee accounts receivable in partnership with the finance team.
- Build long term customer relationships based on trust, service, and consistency.
- Additional duties as required.
Qualifications and Skills:
- 5+ years of experience in meat trading, protein sales, or wholesale protein distribution
- Strong knowledge of meat cuts, specifications, pricing, and market dynamics
- Existing relationships within the Eastern Canadian meat trade strongly preferred
- Experience with Halal programs and customers is a major asset
- Proven sales and negotiation skills with an entrepreneurial mindset
- Self motivated, disciplined, and comfortable managing a large territory
- Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a national team
- Willingness to travel as business needs require
