About the role
Some of what you will do:
The Senior Analyst, Strategic Sourcing will serve as the data and analytics lead for the procurement function, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Strategic Sourcing. This role is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and governance of procurement data while delivering insights, reporting, and tools that drive effective sourcing strategies and measurable savings.
The Senior Analyst will partner closely with the Strategic Sourcing team, Procurement Operations, and Finance to support category initiatives, supplier negotiations, and enterprise-wide reporting. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate insights clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
Specifically, You Will:
Analytics & Reporting:
- Develop and maintain spend cube.
- Develop and maintain dashboards, KPIs, and reports to track spend, supplier performance, and savings.
- Design and deliver regular reporting packages to leadership and Finance, ensuring alignment with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Perform ad-hoc analyses to support strategic sourcing projects, business cases, and executive decision-making.
Category & Project Support:
- Provide analytical support for sourcing events, including RFP development, supplier comparisons, and savings presentations.
- Partner with sourcing managers to prepare negotiation packages and category strategies.
- Step in as needed to support cross-category sourcing initiatives with data and insight.
- Provide support for internal catalog management for enabling efficient buying.
- Provide support vendor set-up, travel/card program users set-up.
- Support contract management by maintaining and leveraging data from contract management tools (e.g., Luminance).
Process Governance, Improvement & Use of AI:
- Enable agentic and other AI opportunities in the source to contract cycle
- Serve as a knowledge hub to document and preserve sourcing methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Support governance by maintaining initiative tracking tools, savings databases, and project milestones.
- Identify opportunities for processing automation and reporting efficiency improvements.
Some of what you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Math, Finance, or other STEM related field. Data Science background is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in procurement analytics, FP&A, data management, or business intelligence.
- Experience with procurement-specific analytics and KPIs preferred.
- Exposure to indirect categories (IT, Marketing, Facilities, Professional Services) an asset. Retail industry background is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills; ability to interpret and communicate insights from large data sets.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel; experience with BI/reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.) and SQL a plus.
- Knowledge of workflow tools such as Smartsheet.
Physical demands/working conditions:
Office environment – Hybrid, with 4 days onsite in Richmond Hill, subject to the hybrid policy.
