About the role
Job Description
Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Informatics, Applications Analyst (EPIC Upgrade) will use their clinical knowledge combined with their superior analytical skills to support Mackenzie Health’s EMR (electronic medical record). As a Clinical Applications Analyst, they will work closely with physician leadership, nursing and allied health leadership, and various clinical groups to provide end user support, troubleshoot issues and errors in the system, enhance and improve EMR while maintaining system standards by analyzing business operations, prioritizing, and implementing requested changes. Additional duties will include participating in rotational on-call, integrated system testing, upgrades and optimizations of the software, training, and creating and maintaining training environments and curriculums, as well as developing and documenting policies and procedures and ensuring they act as the liaison between end users, EMR, and associated third party vendors to ensure clear communication.
What must you have?
Undergraduate degree or diploma in a clinically related field; health informatics or computer science or equivalent Current EPIC certification in an application is required.
What else do you bring?
Minimum of 2 years of hospital clinical and/or hospital information systems and EMR experience (required) Experience working with Epic EMR (required) Experience with coordinating with clinical and non-clinical stakeholders in both an internal and external capacity for Epic system build, testing and upgrade efforts. Solid understanding of managing virtual environments within the hospital industry. Superior experience with MS Office/ Windows / Visio experience Values the importance of data quality in an EMR and user security, access provisioning best practices Knowledge of how various clinical workflows are conducted in a hospital setting Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate information clearly and concisely with, physicians, nurses, allied health professionals, other clinical stakeholders, and project leadership The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in supporting large scale health care information systems and technologies. They will utilize their project management skills to execute on-time deliverables to the organization. They will use their expertise and understanding of the organizational culture and clinical application experience in providing support in the delivery of care across the hospital Strong communication and conflict-management skills Proven attendance record. Highly organized and detail oriented Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures that foster a safe and inclusive environment for all. Ability to perform the essential duties of the job. Effectively uses empathy in interactions with others and demonstrates behaviours consistent with Mackenzie Health’s Commitment to Caring.
