About the role
J.D. Irving, Limited – Irving Pulp & Paper Division is currently seeking a passionate, dedicated and driven Sales Manager. This is a blended role including field-based customer-facing travel while also requiring time in our corporate head office located in Saint John, New Brunswick. In this role, our division is searching for an experienced sales professional with 7 - 10 years of experience to execute our sales strategy, generate new revenue, manage existing and develop new customer accounts across all market segments including Pulp, Packaging and Graphic Paper. The Sales Manager while working from our corporate office will effectively manage our CRM while supporting our business analytics and reporting team. The role will report directly into the Vice President, Pulp & Packaging Sales.

Lead US/Canadian business development for our sales team in all markets.

AI project lead for various process improvement initiatives across our sales processes

Collaborate with both current and prospective customers to increase sales volume and ensure consistent revenue.

Monitor and manage mill fulfillment rates to customers on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis

Ensure disciplined use of CRM system, data integrity, and adherence to defined sales processes

Act as the main contact between Sales and internal teams such as scheduling, logistics, warehousing, and customer service.

Ensure alignment between customer commitments, service delivery capabilities and business objectives

Work together to share field insights that can guide the creation of solutions for customers.

Collect and analyse competitive and market intelligence, providing timely updates to senior leadership.

Willingness for North American travel with occasional international travel required (once or twice per year)

Exceptional people and communication skills

Bachelor’s Degree: MBA considered an asset

7 to 10 years of experience with a minimum of 3 to 5 years in a sales role

Demonstrated expertise in developing new business opportunities and identifying additional revenue streams

Excellent leadership and coaching ability

Strong knowledge and skillset with Microsoft Copilot and general AI expertise

Deep understanding of customers and competitors required to drive sales

Ability to exercise strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills

Demonstrates flexibility as a team member and is willing to take a practical, hands-on role when the business needs it.
