Our client is seeking candidates with experience in the electrical industry who are looking to transition into an estimating role, as well as those with estimating experience in other fields who have previously worked in the electrical sector. The company offers flexible working hours (for example, starting earlier to finish earlier, or vice versa), as well as the possibility of remote work following the training period.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire estimating process (receiving documents, reviewing plans and specifications, preparing bids, and transferring project files).
- Actively identify and pursue suitable projects for bidding.
- Collaborate with Project Managers regarding change orders and additional work.
- Analyze actual project costs compared to the original estimates upon project completion.
- Participate in project kick-off meetings.
- Visit job sites as required, negotiate with suppliers, and estimate labour costs.
- Read and interpret plans and specifications to accurately assess project costs.
- Perform any other related duties.

Requirements
- Diploma of College Studies (DEC) in Estimation, Electrical Technology, or a related field (preferred).
- Minimum of five years of relevant experience.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Strong ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Knowledge of CMEQ software (an asset).
- Proficiency with computer applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, and project management software).
- Solid understanding of the electrical industry.
- Bilingualism is considered an asset (approximately 30% of interactions are with English-speaking clients).

Salary: $36 to $42 per hour
