This is a temporary assignment effective May 4,2026to June 30,2026or to the return of teacher to full contractual FTE whichever comes first.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Education (Elementary/Early Learning);
• Valid BC teaching certificate and current membership in the Teacher Regulation Branch.

Teachers applying for this position should possess the following attributes:

• training in early elementary education;
• successful experience teaching at the kindergarten level;
• commitment to ongoing professional development and participation in a school wide emphasis on numeracy;
• experience teaching a classroom of diverse learners;
• excellent classroom management experience and skills;
• knowledge of current instructional practices and renewed curriculum;
• supportive and knowledgeable about First Peoples' Principles of Learning;
• ability to differentiate instruction for students with diverse learning needs;
• willingness to work closely with Principal Learning Resource and Support Teachers to support students' needs;
• strong interpersonal skills to “connect” with students;
• strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills;
• willingness and commitment to contribute to school wide programs including comprehensive numeracy programs , Heggerty and UFLI;
• ability and commitment to work closely with parents, guardians, and caregivers;
• demonstrated ability to build staff collective efficacy.
