About the role
**POSITION TITLE:**Midwifery Project Coordinator

**SALARY RANGE:**Starting at $68,979.00 Per Annum
POSITION TYPE:Full-time,1-Year Term(Until March 31, 2027)
**LOCATION:**Saskatoon
**ACCOUNTABLE TO:**Midwifery Project Manager
Brief Overview:
The Métis Nation–Saskatchewan (MN-S) Ministry of Health and Mental Health & Addictions leads innovative initiatives to improve health outcomes and self-determined care for Métis families across Saskatchewan. The MN-S Midwifery Project aims to strengthen Métis-led birthing systems, expand access to culturally safe care, and advance a vision for a Métis-led birthing centre in Saskatchewan.
The Midwifery Project Coordinator will support the planning, coordination, and implementation of project activities, working closely with MN-S Health and Mental Health & Addictions leadership, consultants, and community partners. The Coordinator will ensure smooth day-to-day operations, maintain project documentation, and assist with research, outreach, and reporting to support the success of the MN-S Midwifery Project.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support project planning, scheduling, and coordination of meetings and events.
- Aid in the design and delivery of project initiatives and services.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among MN-S departments, consultants, and community partners.
- Support stakeholder engagement and community consultation logistics.
- Prepare reports, briefings, and presentations for MN-S leadership and partners.
- Maintain project files and documentation according to MN-S standards.
- Contribute to research, data collection, and knowledge-sharing activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Understanding of Indigenous health systems, community engagement, and Métis cultural frameworks.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, teams, and digital project management tools.
- Strong writing, reporting, and presentation skills.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and timelines effectively.
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-cultural and multidisciplinary teams.
- Familiarity with Métis culture, history, and governance preferred.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in public health, Indigenous studies, sociology or related field is preferred.
- 3-5 years of relevant community or project coordination experience with demonstrated experience in community-based or Indigenous health project coordination.
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered if it directly relates to the essential duties and responsibilities.
Additional requirements:
- A valid Saskatchewan driver’s license and/or access to reliable transportation to our downtown location would be required.
- Occasional travel throughout the province may be required.
- The successful candidate must undergo a Criminal Record Check.
