The Pharmacy Clerk plays a vital role in supporting the efficient operation of a retail pharmacy by assisting pharmacists and pharmacy technicians with various administrative and customer service tasks. Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of pharmacy terminology and prescription filling processes.
- Proficiency in operating standard office equipment and computer systems.
- Strong listening and communication skills to interact effectively with customers and pharmacy staff.
- Ability to read and understand product labels and shelf tags accurately.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a retail pharmacy or healthcare setting.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software systems and order entry platforms.
- Fluency in a second language relevant to the local community.
- Customer service experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to pharmacy operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in filling prescriptions by accurately entering order information and verifying product labels.
- Communicate effectively with customers to answer questions, provide updates on prescription status, and relay important bulletins.
- Operate office equipment such as computers, scanners, and cash registers to process transactions and maintain records.
- Read and interpret shelf tags to ensure proper stocking and organization of pharmacy products.
- Perform checker duties by verifying prescription details and ensuring accuracy before final dispensing.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and assisting with order entry and receipt of supplies.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Utilize a second language, when applicable, to assist a diverse customer base and improve communication.
