Not only is the department responsible for managing over 18,000 kilometers of provincial highways, it also manages the planning, design and construction of hospitals, schools and other government buildings.
What you will do
Reporting to the Bridge Supervisor, the successful candidate will be responsible
for the following responsibilities:

constructing and erecting scaffolding;
-
hanging staging;
-
casting concrete;
-
painting;
-
constructing special components for bridges;
-
repairing damaged sections of wooden bridges;
-
building falsework and temporary bridges.
Work environment
-
Office location: Woodstock, Nackawic.
-
Work holidays, weekends, shift and/or variable hours.
-
May work in adverse road and weather conditions and must be able to work at heights.

Essential qualifications
- Completion of grade ten (10).
- Two (2) years related work experience.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick.
An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be
considered.
Written and spoken competence in English is required. Please state your language
capability.

Asset Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates that demonstrate the following asset
- experience in the maintenance and construction of bridges;
- possession of a valid Class 3 driver’s license as issued by the Province of New Brunswick with endorsement for air brakes
Subject to the response to this competition, candidates may be required to
demonstrate on their application one or more of the asset qualifications in addition to the essential qualifications in order to be given further consideration.

SALARY
Bridgeworker: $27.72 per hour, based on a 40- hour week.
