This lovely family in Scarborough Village / Guildwood (Scarborough) with a 9-year-old child is looking for a short-term nanny who can assist the mom while recovering from surgery, starting early June for approximately 4 to 6 months, depending on the mom’s recovery. They’re offering up to $30 per hour for the right candidate.
Schedule: Saturdays and Sundays, 9:30 AM to 4:30 PM
This is a childcare-focused role. Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, general childcare for the child and engaging him in age-appropriate activities, including playing with him indoors and outdoors. The nanny should be able to give him space when he needs it, set appropriate limits, prepare simple lunches, encourage him to put his clothes in his laundry basket, and supervise him while he plays video games on his iPad or phone. Responsibilities also include supervising him in the on-site pool with a lifeguard present and going for walks with the child and their dog.
Mom is a single parent who will be needing childcare assistance while recovering from knee surgery. The child has high-functioning autism and enjoys playing online games and board games. They are looking for someone who shows genuine interest in playing games with the child, someone who is kind, patient, and understanding.
It would be a plus if the nanny can swim and is comfortable around water.
Driving is not required, but if the nanny has a car for personal use, a parking spot can be provided.
