Background & Purpose of the Job

We are looking for Seasonal Light Labour employees at our Ice Cream Manufacturing factory in Simcoe, Ontario. Our factory produces brand names such as Breyers, Ben & Jerry's, Magnum, Klondike and Popsicle!! The Seasonal Light Labour position works during the factory’s peak production season. You will also have the opportunity to be recalled for the following year.

Who You Are & What You’ll Do

• Perform all job functions in the safety manner possible.
• Perform all assigned steps in the production and packaging of product, including:
• Observe quality of product and notify appropriate personnel of potential quality problems
• Ensure compliance with all sanitary procedures and policies
• Observe and correct product position to ensure safe and undamaged mechanical processing and/or wrapping
• Pack finished product per count, assortment, and arrangement specifications

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• Must be flexible, able to work all shifts to accommodate factory schedules and training
• Ability to learn all functions of assigned production lines in a quick fashion, as dictated by the production rate of the specific line.
• Ability to frequently lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds.
• Previous experience in a production environment and/or food production or handling is preferred.
• High School graduate or GED equivalent.
