Thompson Construction Group has immediate openings for Water and Sewer Tractor Backhoe Operators supporting our Infrastructure division’s land development and subdivision projects in the Edmonton area.

Responsibilities:

• Pack around various obstacles during backfill of water and sewer pipe
• Work with Track Loader Operator and Packer Operator to efficiently carry out backfill activities
• Excavating to facilitate any small repairs that may be required during backfill activities
• Provide support to Rubber Tired Loader when required in supplying crew with materials or sand
• Participate in daily safety meetings and adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
• Report all incidents, near misses, and equipment damage to site supervision
• Maintain effective communication with supervisors and crew members
• Work collaboratively as part of a construction crew to meet project timelines

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a tractor backhoe operator
• Reliable transportation to and from site
• Ability to work extended hours, including up to 12 hours per day, Monday to Saturday
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License is considered an asset
• Ability to perform physically demanding work in an outdoor construction environment
