Secondary Services Technician, Energy Services - St. Thomas ON (Fulltime)
About the role:
Contribute to the successful work orders and completion of site meetings while placing integrity and quality at the forefront of tracking and maintenance of programs within the Energy Services business line at GTel. Provide support and reassurance to our customers and internal reports.
The Secondary Services Technician provides direct support to the Utility Locate & Meter Reading operational business units.
Other duties include:
- Completion of meter disconnects, meter battery exchanges, consecutive accounts, and special reads in support of the Meter Reading business line
- Attend and conduct site meetings prior to construction commencement
- Maintaining client expectations with firm deadlines across Southern Ontario
- Ensure required site best practices have been executed during scheduled meetings.
- Maintain Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and metrics to support management
- Tracking of monthly completions of all programs for monthly billing requirements.
- Catalog site meetings as per company standards
- Coordinate daily and weekly schedules with internal and external staff.
- Manage daily and weekly compliance requirements
- Attend, support and participate in training meetings
- Review and enhance current Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
- Support development of training modules for assigned programs in coordination with associated manager and the Training Department
- Support new business development opportunities and projects
- Maintain and foster optimum customer relationships in accordance with GTel’s Code of Conduct
Required Qualifications and Work Experience:
- College and/or university degree preferred.
- Experience in construction or field surveying is considered an asset.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean Driver’s Abstract; ability to successfully complete a Criminal Background Check (CBC).
- Demonstrated strong customer service and relationship‑building skills.
- Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Previous experience within the industry is an asset.
