ROLE

REQUIRED EDUCATION & CERTIFICATION(S)

• Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• PACU course
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
• Completion of Basic Cardiac Arrhythmias course

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE(S)

• Recent Paediatric and adult clinical experience in PACU
• Thirty (30) minute return time will be required when scheduled for standby
• Airway Management and Breathing Support
• Haemodynamic Monitoring
• Physical Assessment Skills
• Ability to identify pre and post op complications/risks
• Ability to organize, work independently, problem solve and trouble shoot
• Good understanding and knowledge of endoscopy procedures and technology
• Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
• Excellent communication skills
• Working knowledge of Meditech information system, OR+ array and personal computer applications

DESIRED SKILLS, EXPERIENCE(S) & EDUCATION

• Recent clinical experience in Recovery Room/Day Surgery/ENDO preferred

• E.C.G. Interpretation course preferred
