The Sling-Choker Mfg. Group has an immediate opening for an Overhead Crane Service Technician. This position is based in the Thunder Bay Dryden Area.

Having experience as an overhead crane service technician is ideal, however experience or education as an electrician, electrical technician, or mechanical technician will also be considered. Training is available to fill in any missing skill-sets and to help you succeed in this position.

Job Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair overhead cranes and hoists at customer sites throughout Northwestern Ontario Perform visual inspections and use technical test equipment to identify failures or malfunctions Clearly document inspection findings, service work, deficiencies, and recommended repairs Complete electronic inspection reports using Sling-Choker’s online inspection software Prepare service reports and other documentation in a clear and professional manner Maintain company-supplied tools, equipment, vehicles, and assets in a clean, safe, and working condition Follow applicable safety regulations and industry standards, including OHSA, CSA, and ANSI requirements

Applicant Requirements

Minimum 2 years of relevant experience Valid driver’s licence Strong mechanical and/or electrical aptitude Excellent communication skills Self-driven, reliable, and able to work independently Friendly and professional attitude when working with customers
