VIA Rail is currently seeking electricians to complete our team for our Toronto Maintenance Center (TMC) located in Etobicoke.
TASKS:
As an Electrician for VIA Rail, you will perform your duties on locomotives and passenger cars.
Your job will involve inspections, repairs, and troubleshooting of all electrical and electronic systems on VIA rails fleet.
You will need to read and interpret schematics and perform duties in outlined technical procedures to meet or exceed Via Rails and Transport Canada’s standard.
Work will be performed indoors or outdoors under all weather conditions as required.
SCHEDULE:
The position is permanent (40 hours per week).
Day or night shift including weekends. The work schedule may vary (day, evening, night, week-end and holidays), based on seniority. You may be required to work statutory holidays as well.
SALARY:
Hourly salary: $46.43/H
Evening shift differential: $1.50/H
Night shift differential: $2.00/H

You must have a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience- HVAC experience
You must hold an Electrician Trade Certification: 442A or 309A.
Teamwork, troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities are essential.
Red seal certification.
A professional/technical degree in liaison with the position is an asset.
Railway motive power experience is an asset.
