Northern College is seeking a Job Consultant/Job Developer in our Community Employment Services department. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication, and computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to speak, read and write in French is an asset.

Reporting to the Director of Employment Services, and Academic Upgrading, the successful candidate will deliver the Employment Option Programs in the College catchment area.
What you will be doing:
- Develop, plan, implement and monitor activities related to employment and training programs and services. This includes case management, assisted services such as employment consulting, coaching/mentoring, placement, resource, information services and more to assist job seekers to obtain employment;
- Conduct intake interviews to determine client eligibility and needs, including assessments of clients’ eligibility for various employment programs and opportunities by identifying and documenting clients’ skills, interests, abilities, barriers, educational background and work experience;
- Complete all appropriate file documentation which may include, for example, items such as: application form, service plan agreement, releases of information; and
- Research, develop and deliver workshops on topics as a result of the assessment process and the ongoing needs of the client.

What you will need to be considered:
- Two (2) year diploma in the field of Human Services or a related/ relevant field. A diploma in Business may be considered; and
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in one of the following areas: career and employment guidance and counselling, or employment workshop delivery, or job placement; and
