About the role
What you will do:
Reporting to the Director of Cyber Security, the Senior Cyber Security Analyst will play a key role in protecting our organization from emerging cyber threats while helping shape the future of our security program. You will lead advanced monitoring, investigations, and incident response, and you’ll influence security strategy, standards, and awareness across the company. You’ll also act as an escalation point and mentor for junior analysts, contributing to a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
This is a hybrid position (1 day in the office per week). Office location is 1303 Yonge Street, Toronto.
Responsibilities

Monitor systems and networks using tools like SIEM, EDR, and IDS/IPS to detect suspicious activity in real time.

Analyze security alerts, investigate complex incidents, identify root causes, and lead containment and remediation.

Conduct proactive threat hunting and stay current on emerging tactics, techniques, and vulnerabilities.

Lead and support security projects, tool evaluations, platform upgrades, architectural reviews, and security control enhancements.

Support internal and third‑party audits and help identify opportunities for modernization.

Translate technical insights into clear reports and briefings for technical and business stakeholders.

Champion security best practices across the organization and support awareness initiatives and phishing simulations.

Perform vulnerability assessments, prioritize risks, and track remediation progress.

Support or conduct penetration testing and ethical hacking exercises to uncover exploitable weaknesses.

Co‑lead major incident response activities and participate in on‑call rotations when needed.

Mentor junior analysts and contribute to the team's skill development and knowledge base.
Requirements
- University / College degree in IT security or a related course of study is required.
- 4+ years of relevant cyber security experience.
- Proven track record in working with internal and external team members while meeting tight timelines
- Experience with PCI standards, ITGC, and hands-on security tools.
- Strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive mindset, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to juggle daily operations while supporting ongoing projects.
- Flexibility to support after‑hours incidents and occasional travel.
- Master’s degree in IT Security or related field is considered an asset.
- Professional Accreditation in IT Security or related certifications considered an asset: CISSP, CCSP, CRISC, CISA, GCIH, GCFA
