Your Role as Demolition Foreman (Team Lead):
You are responsible for:
- Leading a demolition crew on residential and commercial projects.
- Planning and executing demo floor-by-floor / section-by-section.
- Managing daily productivity and ensuring real progress is visible.
- Cost management and ensuring project profitability.
- Coordinating with dispatch and operations.
- Maintaining site safety and compliance (OHSA standards).
- Ensuring bins are filled efficiently and on schedule. Representing Binners professionally on-site.
You are not just demolishing, you are running the site for Binners.
Key Responsibilities:
Job Execution:
- Read and understand scope before work begins.
- Break down projects strategically (room by room/floor by floor).
- Delegate tasks clearly to crew members.
- Prevent inefficiencies and downtime.
- Ensure bins are filled properly and swaps are coordinated.
- Keep the job on schedule.
Profit & Loss Accountability (CRITICAL):
- You are responsible for completing a P/L statement at the end of every project.
- We provide the template based on quoted figures for each project.
You must:
- Track labour hours vs quoted hours.
- Track bin counts and disposal costs.
- Monitor material handling costs.
- Control overages and inefficiencies.
- Identify where margins were gained or lost.
- Submit finalized project P/L for review.
Your bonus is directly influenced by overall project profitability.
Communication & Reporting:
- Communicate daily progress with management.
- Report site changes or scope issues immediately.
- Document site conditions with photos.
- Coordinate with dispatch for bin swaps and removals. Escalate issues before they become problems.
Safety Leadership:
- Enforce PPE requirements at all times.
- Ensure OHSA compliance.
- Identify hazards and correct unsafe work immediately.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas. Lead by example.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3+ years demolition experience.
- 1+ year experience leading a crew.
- Valid G Driver’s License.
- Current Certificates (ie. Working at Heights, Aerial Lifts).
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to think ahead and problem-solve.
- Physically fit and comfortable with demanding work.
- High standards for professionalism and reliability.
Bonus if you have:
- Experience operating equipment.
- Experience reading drawings. Experience working directly with site supers.
