Position Summary:
The Senior Digital Content Editor is responsible for working with internal stakeholders to a) lead, develop and organize the content creation for the college website b) assist with other social media platforms when needed, and to c) create and review copy for other digital communications for the college and its academic divisions. On occasion, the incumbent may also write and/or review print materials.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitors current website content status, identifying outdated or missing content and identifying solutions for updating, notifying page owner and working to resolve as quickly as possible.
- Regularly reviews pages across the site in order to assure the highest standards in content creation and brand quality, including consistency of voice, usability and usage standards.
- Sets content for the website homepage, working in coordination with Marketing Managers and the Digital Experience team and other departments as required.
- Responsible for creating new content and updating content for institution-wide and corporate site pages as necessary, including home page.
- Works with corporate department leads, Marketing Managers and Communications team to identify new content goals, find consensus on approach, assemble supporting information and discuss messaging and content.
- Manages the virtual tours and digital screens platforms requiring specialized technical proficiency to schedule, publish, and maintain content, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance across the network.
- Establishes and enforces governance standards for virtual tours and digital screen usage, including content guidelines, approval workflows, accessibility considerations, and brand compliance, while ensuring consistency across departments.
- Collaborates with marketing managers and Communications team in creation of digital materials for academic faculties and corporate departments.
- Monitors and stays on top of developments/issues that could or are currently affecting the institution.
- Other duties as assigned.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
- Four-year degree from a recognized post-secondary institute in Journalism, Public Relations, Marketing Communications, or Graphic Design or equivalent.
- Additional requirements: Global Drupal training, AppSpace training, Social Media Management, Web Mapping, and SiteImprove.
- Minimum of five (5) years’ experience In a Corporate Communications, Public Relations or Media web team environment, preferably with a focus on the education sector.
- Five plus years proven experience writing/editing tight, punchy copy for websites.
- Considerable web editorial experience.
- Experience growing virtual tours, digital screens and other digital communications channels, and engaging audiences to meet organizational objectives.
- Experience tracking, monitoring and measuring outcomes.
- Experience managing vendor and contractor writing resources.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and content management systems (preferably Drupal CMS) is a must.

- Able to travel between campuses on a weekly basis to interview stakeholders, attend meetings, training, etc.
