About the role
Carefirst Seniors & Community Services Associationis a non-profit charitable community services agency established since 1976. Our spectrum of services has grown from the delivery of Chinese meals-on-wheels service to a full range of community support services, covering the whole Greater Toronto Area.
With a staff of more than 550 members (including full-time and part-time staff) and the help of a pool of 850 active volunteers, we serve over 15,000 clients a year, including seniors, adults, youth with physical, social, emotional and health challenges. 3,000 of whom are “home-bound” and frail.
We are currently seeking aFacility Aideto fill a vacant position at our Facility team.
**Terms:**Part Time Permanent
**Location:**Scarborough
Pay range :$18 – $19 hourly
Responsibilities:
- Provides daily cleaning, laundry, and food preparation in the office and care center to ensure the smooth daily operation of the organization
- Utilize occupational health and safety knowledge to provide a safe environment for patients, clients, and employees
- The proper use and dilution of chemicals for cleaning and laundry duties
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standard of all equipment
- Ensure that client’s privacy, information, and confidentiality is maintained
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Food Handlers Certificate is an asset
- Prior experience in cleaning, laundry, and food preparation is an asset
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety and proper use and dilution of cleaning chemicals
- Able to work flexible hours and meet the needs of day shift, night shift and weekend work
- Occasional tasks may be physically demanding
- Fluency in English and preferred a second language commonly used by the community that we support, such as Cantonese / Mandarin is an asset
- Current Vulnerable Sector Check completed within one year
