What can you expect from this position?
Reporting to the IT Program Director, you will support the research, evaluation, and delivery of various initiatives focused on emerging technologies, digital tools, and innovative ways of working. This role offers exposure to innovation, data‑driven decision‑making, and cross‑functional collaboration, and is ideal for a student interested in technology, analytics, and digital transformation.
As a Student, IT Innovation, you will:
- Conduct Research & Analysis for Lighthouse Projects
- Prepare briefing notes, summaries, and recommendation materials for project teams and leadership.
- Collect, organize, and structure data required for evaluating Lighthouse projects.
- Build dashboards, charts, and visualizations to support insight‑driven decisions.
- Contribute to business cases, ROI models, and project impact assessments.
- Support project planning activities, including scheduling workshops, tracking deliverables, and capturing action items.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and validate assumptions.
- Prepare materials for steering committees, demos, and showcase sessions.
This is the role for you if you have:
- Enrolled in an accredited post‑secondary institution (Information Systems, Business Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Analytics, or a related field considered an asset).
- Strong analytical, research, and problem‑solving skills, with an interest in technology and innovation.
- The ability to take initiative and collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams.
- Experience or interest in data analysis, dashboards, digital tools, or low‑code platforms (an asset, not required).
- The ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position.
